Meet Laura
Laura Motton is 25 and resides in Ontario, Canada. She decided to volunteer her web design services in order to build up her portfolio while helping a great cause. She found the volunteer opportunity though volunteermatch.org and applied right away. She has been working with Grassroots.org since December of 2007.
Laura has worked with three nonprofit organizations; The Quail Roost Foundation, Asia Connection Inc., and The Launch Center. Each organization has a unique cause that benefits a different group of people. By volunteering through Grassroots.org she has had the opportunity to help all three and make an impact world-wide!

I like volunteering for Grassroots.org because I feel like I am helping organizations who make a difference in this world. Also, I feel very much appreciated for all the hard work that I put in for these organizations.
I would definitely recommend this volunteer program to Web Designers just starting out and wanting to fill their portfolio or gain experience by using their skills.
How has Grassroots.org impacted your professional life?
Working with Grassroots.org has definitely enhanced my portfolio and I have gained a few clients, since posting my work through Grassroots.org on my online portfolio. I am definitely learning more through the experience.
What are you future goals?
I would like be a successful Freelance Web Designer and feel like I can inspire people through the creativity of my designs!
